5 Days in the Western Channel<\/i> incluye material grabado en el mismo lugar (Toronto) durante cinco d\u00edas consecutivos. Combina el video con t\u00e9cnicas de procesado del audio, fusionanado grabaciones de campo dieg\u00e9ticas con sonidos anamn\u00e9ticos evocados por el espacio-tiempo de las im\u00e1genes.<\/p>\n

STATEMENT<\/p>\n

El foco de mi pr\u00e1ctica reciente se ha centra en la aproximaci\u00f3n escult\u00f3rica al sonido que busca evaluar y re-situar el papel de la percepci\u00f3n sonora dentro del continuum sensorial. En particular, exploro la manera en que el espacio material y cinem\u00e1tico pueden articularse dentro de un marco acustemol\u00f3gico. Re-situar la experiencia dentro de una ontolog\u00eda sonora, en lugar de una representaci\u00f3n visual, proporciona una capacidad para privilegiar formas sensoriales (y sensuales) de mediaci\u00f3n que han sido en su mayor parte ocultadas por el dominio de la imagen.<\/td>\n

5 Days in the Western Channel combines footage shot in the same location (Toronto\u2019s Western Channel) over five consecutive days. It combines durational video with spectrally processed sound, merging diegetic field recordings with anamnetic sounds evoked by the time-space of the images.<\/p>\n

STATEMENT<\/p>\n

The core of my recent practice has been centred around a sculptural approach to sound that seeks to reappraise and re-situate the role of the sonic within the sensory continuum. In particular, I have been exploring how both substantive and cinematic space can be articulated within an acoustemological framework. Re-situating experience within a sonic, rather than a visual, ontology affords a capacity for privileging sensory (and sensual) forms of mediation that have been for the most part subsumed by the dominance of the image.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
