WATER ON ASPHALT<\/b>  <\/i><\/p>\n

La devastaci\u00f3n de la tierra puede ir f\u00e1cilmente de la mano con un nivel de vida garantizado para los hombres, y f\u00e1cilmente con la creaci\u00f3n organizada de un estado uniforme de felicidad para todos los hombres.<\/em>(Martin Heidegger). <\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

La c\u00e1mara graba el proceso de la pintura: el artista pinta directamente en la calle. En lugar de usar pintura acr\u00edlica o al \u00f3leo, emplea el agua como \u00fanico material. Gracias al enfoque de la c\u00e1mara, la aguada inmaterial se hace visible. La superficie del fluido refleja el cielo y los \u00e1rboles.<\/span>
\n El v\u00eddeo Water on Asphalt encarna el concepto del \u00abimagen-cristal\u00bb de Gilles Deleuze, ilustrado en su obra La imagen tiempo. El autor presenta la idea del circuito temporal m\u00e1s peque\u00f1o, que implica la simultaneidad de la imagen real y de su reflejo: \u00abEl presente es la imagen real, la imagen en un espejo\u201c. Water on Asphalt muestra al artista que genera la \u00abimagen en el espejo\u00bb. En la parte inicial del video la \u00abimagen real\u00bb consiste en nada m\u00e1s que el asfalto, una alegor\u00eda de la dominaci\u00f3n humana sobre la naturaleza. El agua, uno de los recursos m\u00e1s importantes y valiosos, crea la \u00abimagen virtual\u00bb que revela la visi\u00f3n de la naturaleza. La reflexi\u00f3n funciona como una irritaci\u00f3n: se presenta la visi\u00f3n de la naturaleza como una imagen del pasado y al mismo tiempo como una realidad presente. Water on Asphalt muestra la ambig\u00fcedad entre el progreso digital y la naturaleza que se extingue. Representa un \u00abmemento mori\u00bb, una memoria virtual que refleja el dilema ecol\u00f3gico de nuestros tiempos.<\/span><\/p>\n

STATEMENT<\/span><\/p>\n

Soy una videoartista que trabaja en el campo de la video-performance y del video experimental. Investigo los fen\u00f3menos de la percepci\u00f3n humana y la influencia ambivalente de la tecnolog\u00eda en nuestras vidas. Mis v\u00eddeos tratan de la relaci\u00f3n entre el ser humano y la c\u00e1mara digital; me fascinan los avances de la tecnolog\u00eda y a la vez me preocupan por su enorme influencia con consecuencias que no podemos prever.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mis performance se realizan exclusivamente para la visi\u00f3n limitada de la c\u00e1mara.<\/span><\/td>\n

The camera records the process of painting: the artist is painting directly on the street. Instead of using oil colour or acrylic paint the only material utilised is water. Due to the specific camera angle the immaterial water-painting becomes visible. The fluid surface is reflecting the sky and trees.water<\/span><\/p>\n

The video Water on Asphalt shows the element of reflection illustrating Gilles Deleuze\u2019s concept of the \u201ccrystal-image\u201d. This concept is elucidated in Deleuze\u2019s work \u201cThe Time-Image \u2013 Movie 2\u201c and formulates the idea of the smallest temporal circuit, which consists of the simultaneity of the real image and its reflection, the actual and the virtual image: \u201cThe present is the actual image, the image in a mirror.\u201c (Cinema 2 , 82). Water on Asphalt shows the artist generating the \u201cimage in the mirror\u201d. In the beginning of the video the \u201cactual image\u201d consists of nothing else than asphalt \u2013 the material works as an allegory of human domination over nature. Water as one of the most important and precious resources of our time creates the \u201cvirtual image\u201d revealing the view of nature. The reflection works like an irritation: it exposes the view of nature as a past image and at the same time as a present reality.Water on Asphalt shows the ambiguity between digital progress and a vanishing nature. It remains a \u201cmemento mori\u201d \u2013 a virtual memory reflecting the ecological dilemma of our times.<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

STATEMENT<\/span><\/p>\n

I am a video artist working in the fields of video-performance and experimental video. I investigate the phenomena of human perception and the ambivalent influence of technology on our lives combining current digital video fleetingness of our times. My videos deal with the relation between the human being towards the digital camera, I am at the same time fascinated by the progress of technology and scared by its enormous influence on our lives with consequences we cannot foresee.<\/span><\/p>\n

My performances are exclusively made for the limited view of the camera.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
