| Manière noire es una historia sobre el paisaje. ¿Qué traemos de vuelta de un viaje, ¿cómo podemos narrar una experiencia de ese tipo? En Islandia, nuestra percepción de los puntos de referencia en el paisaje a menudo es confusa por la falta de presencia humana. La medida es un menhir o una montaña, ambos puntuando un horizonte plano. Lo que queda en nuestra mente es una impresión de proximidad y lejanía, una incertidumbre. Esta isla es el escenario de imágenes fantaseadas y concretas. Tratamos de pintarla con su propia paleta, intentamos esbozarla con su vocabulario. | Manière noire is a story about landscape.What do we bring back from a trip, how can we narrate such an experience ?In Iceland, our perception of landmarks is often confused by the lack of human presence. The measure is alternatively a menhir or a mountain, both punctuating a flat horizon.What remains in our mind is an impression of proximity and remoteness, an uncertainty.This Island is the scene of fantasized and concrete pictures.We tried painting her with her own palette, tried sketching her with her vocabulary. |
